Okay, so I was stuck at work with pretty much nothing to do, when I remembered that Stephen had asked me to do some work with the business card to make it look more professional and do a full bleed thing.
So I grabbed hold of some promotional material for the latest Panasonic colour machine, cleaned it up and then flew it into the background of the new card design. Then I masked out all of the white and applied a couple of gradient shapes in behind it, the later of which (a dark-rimmed circle) I used gaussian blur on. I added the necessary text, and I think I have one or two more ideas to make it looks extra cool that I'll try out tomorrow.
Basically, it looks like the most professional corpoarte business card I've had a chance to work on since I started at BBM&P. Perhaps the most corporate I've ever done. I'm actually looking forward to finishing it and setting it up for print, to see if it looks any good coming out of our copier.
I'll make a jpeg of it to show off tomorrow when I get it finished. It's not the greatest piece of work I've ever done, but it looks pretty flash. Might have to redo the mask around the photocopier, because I saw some white peeking through, but it should work.
Okay, gonna go work on the invitation. I hope to have something to show off soon for that too, but I might just make a teaser, since I want the final results to be a surprise for everyone receiving one, a small number of whom are on this friends list.
L o L,
would love to show you
